FORTE CHOSEN CACC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

CALDWELL, N.J. - Caldwell College freshman Annie Forte (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Softball Rookie of the Week for the week ending Apr. 13, the league announced. Forte batted .452 with three home runs, four doubles and nine runs batted to help the Cougars go 6-4 last week.

Forte belted her first career home run on Apr. 8 against regionally-ranked Adelphi University. The next day, she went 3-for-3 with a homer, a double, three runs scored and three RBIs in a 10-0 win over Queens. Forte also homered while going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs in a 7-4 victory over CACC foe Philadelphia on Apr. 12. Her seven extra-base hits gave Forte a slugging percentage of .871 for the week. With the strong performances last week, Forte raised her batting average 41 points to .360.

Forte and the Cougars (19-13 overall, 9-1 CACC) play a CACC doubleheader against Felician College on Wednesday, Apr. 16, beginning at 3:00 p.m.
