PULIDO NAMED CACC PITCHER OF THE WEEK

N.J. - Caldwell College freshman Brittany Pulido (Ojai, CA/Nordhoff) was
selected the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Softball Pitcher of the
Week for the week ending Mar. 23, the league announced today. Pulido won
both of her starts last week at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Fla.
Last week's CACC Rookie of the Week, Pulido tossed complete-game victories
over region foe New Haven and Northern State, allowing a combined six hits
and one earned run over 14 innings. Against New Haven, she pitched a two-hit
shutout in a 3-0 win on Mar. 17. Then against Northern State, Pulido gave up
four hits and two runs, one earned, while striking out six in a 5-2 triumph
on Mar. 18. She is 3-1 with an earned-run average of 0.81 on the season.
Additionally, junior Gina Capardi (West Caldwell, NJ/Caldwell)
received honorable mention for the conference's weekly honors after batting
.714 in four games. Capardi recorded a hit in nine straight at-bats over
three games, going 6-for-6 against Concordia (Neb.) and New Haven on Mar. 17
and recording a hit in her first three at-bats against Northern State.
The Cougars will host Nyack College on Tuesday, Mar. 25 in
the first home games of the season. The doubleheader, which also begins the
CACC schedule, starts
at 3:00 p.m. at Caldwell Field.
