CALDWELL SOFTBALL RANKED FOURTH IN EAST REGION RANKINGS

CALDWELL, N.J. - The Caldwell College softball team remained fourth in the NCAA Division II East Region rankings, released today. The Cougars, who also were fourth in last week's rankings, are 32-14-2 on the season after wrapping up the regular-season schedule on Monday.

Caldwell, which is the highest ranked team from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference in the regional rankings, will be the No. 2 seed behind seventh-ranked Dominican College at this week's CACC Tournament. The winners of the three conference tournaments in the East Region, which includes the CACC, the East Coast Conference and the Northeast-10 Conference, automatically advance to the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament. The Cougars have played in four of the past five regional tourneys, winning the 2004 Northeast Regional and advancing to the Women's College World Series.

Caldwell begins play at the CACC Tournament on Thursday, Apr. 30 against Wilmington University. The first-round game is set to start at 10:00 a.m. at Georgian Court University in Lakewood, N.J.
