ADELPHI BLANKS COUGARS IN WOMEN'S TENNIS

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - The Caldwell College women's tennis team dropped its
ninth straight dual, falling to Adelphi University 9-0 in a non-conference
meeting Friday afternoon at Adelphi. The defeat leaves the Cougars at 0-9 on
the season, while the Panthers improve to 6-4.
Adelphi won all contested matches in straight sets, blanking Caldwell 8-0 in
both doubles matches and losing just three games in five singles pairings.
Senior Mackenzie Lynch (Wayne, NJ/DePaul Catholic) was the only
Cougar not to get shut out, losing 6-0, 6-3 at No. 3 singles to Megan
Margino.
Caldwell hosts Molloy College on Monday, Oct. 6, beginning at 3:30 p.m. at
the Caldwell College Tennis Courts.

WOMEN'S TENNIS LOSES TO CHESTNUT HILL, 7-2

PHILADELPHIA,
Pa. - The Caldwell College women's tennis team was defeated by Chestnut Hill
College, 7-2 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference dual Tuesday
afternoon at the Chestnut Hill Tennis Courts. The loss drops the Cougars to
0-8 overall and 0-4 in conference play, while the Griffins improve to 5-6,
2-1 CACC.
Caldwell received wins at the top two singles positions. Junior Chiaki
Saito (Tokyo, Japan), pictured, was victorious at No. 1 singles,
defeating Erin Anderson in three sets, 4-6, 7-5, 10-8. At No. 2 singles,
freshman Olga Ndhlovu (Bergenfield, NJ/Bergenfield) beat Cara Wallin,
6-4, 6-4 for the Cougars' other point. Saito and Ndhlovu were unable to earn
a win in doubles, as Anderson and Wallin took an 8-6 decision at No. 1
doubles.
The Cougars return to the courts on Friday, Oct. 3 for a non-conference dual
at Adelphi University.

EAST STROUDSBURG SHUTS OUT CALDWELL IN WOMEN'S TENNIS

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - The Caldwell College women's tennis team lost a
non-conference dual at East Stroudsburg University, 9-0 at Wolbers Tennis
Courts Monday afternoon. The result leaves the Cougars winless on the season
at 0-7.
The Warriors picked up straight-set victories at the top four singles
positions and won at first and second doubles by identical 8-0 scores. East
Stroudsburg received walkovers at fifth and sixth singles and third doubles
due to a shortened Caldwell lineup.
The Cougars are back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 30 for a Central Atlantic
Collegiate Conference dual at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, Pa.

WOMEN'S TENNIS DROPS CACC DUAL AT GEORGIAN COURT

LAKEWOOD,
N.J. - The Caldwell College women's tennis team was defeated by Georgian
Court University, 6-3 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference dual
Friday afternoon. With the loss, the Cougars fall to 0-6 overall and 0-3 in
the conference, while the Lions improve to 3-6, 2-1 CACC.
Sophomore Kirsty Leedham (Ellesmere Port, England/Cheshire Acad.) and
senior Mackenzie Lynch (Wayne, NJ/DePaul Catholic), pictured, earned
two points for Caldwell with straight-set victories at fourth and fifth
singles, respectively. The wins were the first of the season for Leedham and
Lynch. Leedham also combined with freshman Olga Ndhlovu (Bergenfield,
NJ/Bergenfield) for a 9-7 win at No. 2 doubles.
Next up for Caldwell is a non-conference dual at East Stroudsburg University
on Monday, Sept. 29.

COUGARS STUMBLE AGAINST DOWLING IN WOMEN'S TENNIS

CALDWELL, N.J. - The Caldwell College women's tennis team was blanked by
Dowling College, 9-0 Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference dual at the
Caldwell College Tennis Courts. The result leaves the Cougars winless on
the season at 0-5, while the Golden Lions improve to 5-0.
Dowling won all three doubles matches without losing a single game, then
earned straight-set victories in all six singles matches. Sophomore
Kirsty Leedham (Ellesmere Port, England/Cheshire Acad.) had the closest
match of the day, falling to Jenn Tripp at No. 4 singles, 6-4, 6-4.
The Cougars return to the courts on Friday, Sept. 19, when they travel to
face Adelphi University in another non-conference dual.

HOLY FAMILY TOPS CALDWELL IN WOMEN'S TENNIS

CALDWELL, N.J. - The Caldwell College women's tennis team lost a Central
Atlantic Collegiate Conference dual to Holy Family University, 7-2 in the
Cougars' first home match of the season Monday evening at the Caldwell
College Tennis Courts. The defeat gives Caldwell an 0-4 record on the year,
including an 0-2 mark in the CACC, while the Tigers improve to 3-1 overall,
2-0 CACC.
Holy Family won all seven matches that were contested, with the Cougars
receiving points via walkovers at sixth singles and third doubles. The
closest match was at No. 2 singles, where freshman Olga Ndhlovu
(Bergenfield, NJ/Bergenfield) lost to Melanie Pulsinelli 6-1, 7-6 (9-7).
Caldwell is back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 17 for a home dual against
Dowling College, beginning at 3:30 p.m.

COUGAR WOMEN'S TENNIS LOSES AT QUEENS

FLUSHING, N.Y. - The Caldwell College women's tennis team was defeated by
Queens College, 9-0 Friday afternoon in a non-conference dual at the QC
Indoor Tennis Center. The loss gives the Cougars a record of 0-3 on the
season, while the Knights improve to 2-0.
Queens won all six singles matches in straight sets, then captured the three
doubles matches while losing just one game.
Caldwell plays its first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference dual on
Monday, Sept. 15 against Holy Family University. The first matches begin at
6:00 p.m. at the Caldwell College Tennis Courts.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Caldwell College women's tennis team lost to
Philadelphia University, 9-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference
dual Wednesday afternoon. The Cougars, who opened conference play with
today's match with the Rams, fall to 0-2 on the season, while the Rams
improve to 1-2.
The Rams surrendered just four games while winning all six singles matches
in straight sets. The hosts also swept the three doubles matches by winning
all but three games.
Next up for Caldwell is a non-conference dual at Queens College on Friday,
Sept. 12, beginning at 3:30 p.m.

WOMEN'S TENNIS FALLS AT MOLLOY TO BEGIN 2008 SEASON

ROCKVILLE
CENTRE, N.Y. - The Caldwell College women's tennis team opened the 2008 fall
season with a 5-4 defeat at Molloy College in a non-conference dual Monday
afternoon at the Rockville Centre Tennis Center. Junior Brittni
Frantellizzi (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) and sophomore Chiaki
Saito (Tokyo, Japan) were victorious in both singles and doubles for the
Cougars, who were 2-12 a year ago.
Saito made her debut in a Caldwell uniform a memorable one, defeating
Alexandra Bonventre in straight sets at No. 1 singles. Frantellizzi earned
an 8-1 decision over Angeline Asaro at No. 2 singles. Saito and Frantellizzi
also combined to win at first doubles. The Cougars' other point was scored
by freshman Olga Ndhlovu (Bergenfield, NJ/Bergenfield), who won her
match at No. 3 singles. The Lions were victorious at second and third
doubles and picked up straight-set wins at the bottom three singles
positions to earn the team victory.
The Cougars return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 10, when they play at
Philadelphia University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference dual.

WOMEN'S TENNIS CHOSEN SEVENTH IN CACC PRESEASON POLL

CALDWELL, N.J. - The Caldwell College women's tennis squad was ranked
seventh in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Preseason Poll, the
league announced. Holy Family University was the unanimous choice to capture
its third straight CACC crown, garnering all eight first-place votes in the
poll.
The Cougars, coached by Michael Lukacs, have five student-athletes
back from last year's team that placed seventh with a 1-6 record in
conference duals. Junior Brittni Frantellizzi (Binghamton,
NY/Susquehanna Valley) has won 11 singles matches in her two seasons to lead
the returning players.
Caldwell opens its 2008 schedule with a CACC dual with Holy Family on
Saturday, Sept. 6. The matches begin at 12:00 p.m. at the Caldwell College
Tennis Courts.
