COUGARS PICKED TO FINISH SIXTH IN CACC NORTH

8-26-08
CALDWELL, N.J. - The Caldwell College volleyball team is predicted to finish sixth in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division, according to the CACC Preseason Volleyball Poll. The Cougars received a total of 31 points in the poll, which was conducted by the conference's 13 head coaches.

Last season the Cougars, coached by Megan Hrbek, won four CACC matches, including three of their last five matches of the season, to finish sixth in the CACC North. Ten players are back from last year's squad, led by sophomore outside hitter Cory Roesing (Secaucus, NJ/Secaucus), who paced the team in kills per game. The Cougars welcome four newcomers who have the potential to contribute to the team's success this season.

Bloomfield College was picked to win the North, with defending CACC champion Georgian Court University selected as the favorite in the South.

The Cougars begin the 2008 season with a non-conference match on Sept. 2 at Southern Connecticut State University. The first serve is set for 7:00 p.m. in New Haven, Conn.
