MOSHER GARNERS CACC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK HONORS IN VOLLEYBALL

9-29-08
CALDWELL, N.J. - Caldwell College freshman right side Amber Mosher (Flanders, NJ/Mount Olive) was selected the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Volleyball co-Rookie of the Week for the week ending Sept. 28, the CACC announced today. Mosher helped the Cougars win two conference matches in a 2-1 week by averaging 3.09 kills per set while recording a hitting percentage of .373.

On Monday, Sept. 22 in Caldwell's only loss of the week, Mosher tallied a team-best 16 kills to go with 14 digs for her first career double-double as the Cougars fell to Southern Connecticut State in five sets. She followed that performance with 15 kills and a .500 hitting percentage to lead Caldwell past Post University, 3-1 on Tuesday in Waterbury, Conn. Mosher finished the week with three kills while playing two sets in the Cougars' three-set sweep of Goldey-Beacom on Saturday in the George R. Newman Center.

Mosher leads Caldwell in kills (92), kills per set (2.56) and hitting percentage (.261) in her first collegiate season. She is the second straight Cougar freshman to receive a weekly honor from the CACC, as freshman setter Lauren Roth (Findlay, OH/Findlay) was named the conference's Player of the Week on Sept. 22. The influx of new talent has allowed Caldwell (5-5 overall) to surpass last year's win total while remaining unbeaten in the conference through three matches.

Mosher and the Cougars will play at Bloomfield College (5-7 overall, 3-0 CACC) on Tuesday, Sept. 30 in a meeting between the top two teams in the CACC North Division. The first serve is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Bloomfield, N.J.
