ROTH CHOSEN CACC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Lauren Roth (Findlay, OH/Findlay) was selected the Central Atlantic
Collegiate Conference Volleyball Rookie of the Week for the week ending
Nov. 16, the conference announced today. This is the first CACC Rookie of
the Week award for Roth, who averaged 7.75 assists and 2.38
digs per set in two CACC Tournament matches last week.
Roth dished out 40 assists and had six kills and 10 digs in a 3-1 victory
over Nyack on Tuesday in the CACC quarterfinals. It was Roth's eighth
double-double of the season. She then had 22 assists, nine digs and two aces
as the Cougars lost in the semifinals to Philadelphia in four sets.
Roth had an outstanding freshman campaign, earning all-CACC second team
honors while ranking among the conference leaders in assists. Earlier this
season, Roth was named the CACC Player of the Week twice and also was ECAC
Player of the Week on Oct. 30, becoming the only player in the conference to
receive the ECAC weekly award this season.
The Cougars, coached by Megan Hrbek, went 18-11 overall this season
and won the CACC North Division title after compiling a record of 13-4 in
conference play.
