ALAO, MCDONOUGH RECEIVE CACC WEEKLY VOLLEYBALL AWARDS

CALDWELL, N.J. - Caldwell College sophomore middle blocker Titilola Alao (Ossining, NY/Ossining) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 20, the league announced today. Also, freshman outside hitter Susan McDonough (Saline, MI/Saline) was selected the conference's Rookie of the Week. The duo helped the Cougars win a pair of CACC matches last week.

Alao, who averaged 2.69 kills and 1.12 blocks per set, registered seven total blocks to go with seven kills in a 3-0 victory over Bloomfield on Tuesday. She then had eight kills and a .278 hitting percentage to lift the Cougars past Dominican, 3-0 on Thursday. In Saturday's non-conference match with Stonehill, Alao racked up a career-high 21 kills and hit .436 as Caldwell lost in five sets. She also had six total blocks.

McDonough led the Cougars in kills in the victories over Bloomfield and Dominican, recording nine in each win. She then had 13 kills and 13 digs against Stonehill, and a team-high 15 kills to go with 15 digs in a five-set loss to Molloy. McDonough, who averaged 2.88 kills and 3.12 digs for the week, has tallied 10 or more digs in all 12 matches this season.

The Cougars play at Felician on Tuesday and at Nyack on Thursday before returning home to face Georgian Court on Saturday, Sept. 26.
