MCDONOUGH NAMED CACC VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

11-2-09
CALDWELL, N.J. - Caldwell College freshman outside hitter Susan McDonough (Saline, MI/Saline) was selected the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 1, the league announced today. McDonough, who has received the conference's Rookie of the Week award three times, averaged 3.75 kills, 3.25 digs and 0.75 blocks per set in a 4-0 week for Caldwell.

McDonough led the Cougars in kills three times last week, including a 17-kill performance in a three-set win over Wilmington on Saturday. She also had 10 digs and three blocks in that match. In a 3-0 victory over Concordia on Thursday, McDonough tallied 14 kills, five digs and two blocks. She wrapped up the successful week with 11 kills, 12 digs and four blocks to lead the Cougars past Southern Connecticut State in three sets in Saturday's second match. The wins helped Caldwell move into first place in the CACC North Division with one conference game remaining before the CACC Tournament.

McDonough and the Cougars play a non-conference match on Tuesday, Nov. 3 at Molloy College. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Rockville Centre, N.Y.
