10-9-07 The event gives students and fans a preview of the 2007-2008 Cougar men’s and women’s basketball teams, who are officially allowed to practice on Oct. 15. Flat screen TV Other highlights of the evening include a free throw competition with the men’s and women’s coaching staff, a staff vs. student shooting contest and performances by the cheerleading squad and dance club. The 2007-2008 season promises to be an exciting one for the Cougars, as both teams return the majority of their players from last season. The men’s team, coached by Mark Corino, has all but one player back from last season’s Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference championship team. The Cougars also advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time. The women’s team, coached by Linda Cimino, returns four starters, including all-CACC and all-Met forward Mackenzie Lynch. The event begins at 10:00 p.m., with tickets available at the door. Admission is $2.00 with proceeds benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The first 50 people get in free. |
