CALDWELL, N.J. - The Caldwell College women's basketball team forced 27 turnovers for the game and shot 53.3 percent from the field in the second half to cruise to a 76-41 victory over Felician College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game Saturday night in the George R. Newman Center. The win completes the season sweep of Felician and gives the Cougars a 12-7 record on the year, including a 6-5 mark in the conference. The Golden Falcons fall to 3-17, 1-10 CACC.

The Cougars opened the game with a 19-4 run buoyed by six points from senior guard Khaliqa Davis (Newark, NJ/Bloomfield Tech) and five from freshman guard Stephanie Cadet (Elmont, NY/Elmont Memorial). The lead increased to as many as 18 before a basket by Felician's Breanne DeFalco at the buzzer made the score 33-17 Caldwell at the break.

The Golden Falcons scored the first four points of the second half to pull within 12, 33-21. But a 10-2 run by Caldwell that included a three from freshman guard Kirsty Leedham (Ellesmere Port, England/Cheshire Acad.) boosted the lead to 47-25 with 14:51 remaining. Leedham hit another three-pointer, then converted a conventional three-point play back-to-back to help the bulge grow to 61-31 midway through the half. The Golden Falcons never came closer than 25 the rest of the way as Caldwell picked up its seventh straight win over Felician.

Leedham was 4-of-8 from three-point range and finished with a game-high 21 points, marking the third time this season that she has scored 20 or more points in a game. Senior forward Melissa Freeman (Englewood, NJ/Cresskill), pictured, had 11 points and seven rebounds, while senior guard Dana Leary (Bridgewater, NJ/Immaculata) swiped a career-high six steals to go with 11 points and a team-best eight boards. Leary helped the Cougars finish with 18 steals on the night. Janelle Biamonte paced Felician with 18 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.

Next up for Caldwell is a CACC North Division match-up at Post University on Tuesday, Feb. 5. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m. in Waterbury, Conn.
