LYNCH RECEIVES CACC PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS

CALDWELL,
N.J. - Caldwell College junior forward Mackenzie Lynch (Wayne,
NJ/DePaul Catholic) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference
Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 9, the league
announced today. Lynch averaged 21.5 points, 11.0 rebounds and 3.5 steals
in two victories for the Cougars, who are 5-1 on the season.
In Monday's 83-40 victory over Concordia College, Lynch had 20 points, eight
rebounds and four steals. Then on Saturday, she tallied 23 points, 14 boards
and three steals to lead the Cougars past Goldey-Beacom, 72-57 in a
conference win at Caldwell's George R. Newman Center. The double-double
against the Lightning was the second of the season for Lynch, who has scored
at least 20 points in each of the last three games. For the week, Lynch was
13-of-26 (.500) from the field while making 17-of-20 (.850) from the free
throw line.
Caldwell's 5-1 start is the program's best start since the 1996-97 season,
when the Cougars also started 5-1.
Lynch and the Cougars return to action on Saturday, Dec. 15 with a
non-conference game at Adelphi University. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30
p.m. in Garden City, N.Y.
