LAMBERT SELECTED CACC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK FOR THIRD TIME

CALDWELL, N.J. - Caldwell College freshman guard Kaitlyn Lambert (Cumberland, RI/Cumberland) received her third Rookie of the Week award from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference this season, the league announced today. Lambert, who who was the Rookie of the Week on Nov. 17 and Dec. 8, earned the honor for the week ending Dec. 21 by averaging 15.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals in a pair of games last week.

Lambert registered 18 points, nine rebounds and three assists in an 83-67 victory over Mercy College on Dec. 20 at the ECAC Holiday Classic, hosted by Caldwell College. In the Cougars' second game in the Classic, Lambert tallied 12 points, four boards and three steals in an 82-79 loss to Queens College.

For the season, Lambert is averaging 12.8 points and 6.8 rebounds through the first nine games of her collegiate career. She also ranks among the conference leaders in scoring (15th), rebounding (18th) and free throw percentage (15th). No other player in the conference has been named Rookie of the Week more than once this year.

Also, senior forward Janay Perkins (Bronx, NY/Walton) received honorable mention after averaging 18.5 points and 10.5 rebounds last week.

The Cougars will participate in the Pace University Tournament on Dec. 29-30, beginning with a game with the host Setters on Monday, Dec. 29. The game is set to start at 6:00 p.m. in Pleasantville, N.Y.
