CACC HONORS LAMBERT WITH SECOND ROOKIE OF THE WEEK AWARD

CALDWELL, N.J. - Caldwell College freshman guard Kaitlyn Lambert (Cumberland, RI/Cumberland) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the week ending Dec. 7, the conference announced today. Lambert averaged 17.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals in two league wins last week. This is the second time Lambert has received the CACC's weekly honor for newcomers this season.

Lambert helped the Cougars begin the conference schedule with a 72-56 win over Felician on Dec. 2, scoring a career-high 20 points to go with five rebounds. She followed that up with 15 points, nine boards and a career-best three steals in a 71-49 victory at Goldey-Beacom on Dec. 6. The wins were the first of the season for the Cougars, who improved to 2-4 overall and 2-0 in the CACC.

Lambert, who was named the CACC Rookie of the Week on Nov. 17, is averaging 12.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game in her first collegiate season.

Additionally, sophomore guard Kirsty Leedham (Ellesmere Port, England/Cheshire Acad.) received honorable mention after averaging 16.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.0 steals in the two wins last week.

The Cougars return to action on Saturday, Dec. 13 with a non-conference game at home against Adelphi University. The game is set to start at 1:30 p.m. in the George R. Newman Center.
