LAMBERT NAMED CACC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK AGAIN

CALDWELL, N.J. - For the sixth time this season, Caldwell College freshman guard Kaitlyn Lambert (Cumberland, RI/Cumberland) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the week ending Mar. 1, the league announced today. Last week Lambert averaged 15.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists over two games.

Lambert scored a game-high 16 points to go with five boards and two steals in helping the Cougars defeat division-leading Dominican College, 67-53 on Feb. 24. In Friday's regular-season finale, Lambert tallied 14 points, four rebounds and two steals as Caldwell lost to Philadelphia, 80-78. For the week, Lambert shot 44.8 percent from the field, including 3-of-6 from three-point range.

This season Lambert is averaging 11.3 points to rank first among CACC newcomers. She also is the Cougars' third-leading scorer and rebounder, averaging 5.6 rebounds per contest. Earlier this season, she was named CACC Rookie of the Week on Nov. 17, Dec. 8, Dec. 22, Feb. 9 and Feb. 23. Lambert has received the conference's weekly award for newcomers more than any other player in the league this season.

Lambert and the Cougars take on Bloomfield College tonight in the first round of the CACC Tournament. Game time is set for 5:00 p.m. at the Bloomfield Gymnasium.
