RANSOM, DOSTER LEAD COUGARS AT N.J.I.T. CLASSIC

BRONX, N.Y. - Sophomore Amy Ransom (Chattanooga, TN/USC-Aiken) and junior Katie Doster (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) finished ninth and 10th respectively, as the Caldwell College cross country team competed in the N.J.I.T. Classic Sunday at Van Cortlandt Park. The Cougars defeated Concordia and Dominican while losing to Bridgewater, Dowling and N.J.I.T.

Ransom covered the 5,000-meter course in 25 minutes, 53 seconds, with Doster just three seconds behind in 25:56. Sophomore Lauren O'Connell (South Amboy, NJ/St. John Vianney) was next for Caldwell, finishing in 20th. Freshman Katie Bordiuk (West Long Branch, NJ/Shore Regional) placed 22nd in her first collegiate race, while sophomore Erin Doyle (Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan) took 28th.

In team scoring, Caldwell beat Concordia 17-38 and Dominican 26-29, and fell to Bridgewater 25-30, Dowling 19-36 and N.J.I.T. 17-40.

The Cougar cross country team is back in action this Thursday, Sept. 23 at the Teikyo Post University Classic. Race time is 3:00 p.m.
