COUGARS PLACE SEVENTH AT CACC CHAMPIONSHIPS

PHILADELPHIA,
Pa. - The Caldwell College cross country team finished in seventh
place, one spot better than last year, at the Central Atlantic
Collegiate Conference Cross Country Championships Saturday morning at
Belmont Plateau. The Cougars also received the CACC Sportsmanship
Award for the second consecutive season.
Junior Shannon Coyle (Matawan, NJ/St. John Vianney), pictured,
paced the Cougars with her 36th-place finish over the 5,000-meter
course. Fellow junior Amy Ransom (Chattanooga, TN/Notre Dame)
was next in 44th, followed by senior Katie Doster (Wayne,
NJ/Wayne Valley) in 47th. Freshman Jerrica Kahwaty (Clifton,
NJ/Clifton) and junior Lauren O'Connell (South Amboy, NJ/St.
John Vianney) finished in 54th and 56th, respectively, and junior
Erin Doyle (Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan) took 71st.
For the first time in the three-year history of the program, the
Cougars will compete in the NCAA East Region Meet, held on Saturday,
Nov. 5 at Lock Haven University.
