COUGARS TAKE SECOND AT NJAIAW CHAMPIONSHIPS

N.J. - The Caldwell College cross country team finished second among
NCAA Division II schools at the NJAIAW Championships, held at Garrett
Mountain Reservation Saturday afternoon. The Cougars scored 61 points
to finish behind Felician College and ahead of N.J.I.T. and Bloomfield
College.
Freshman Jerrica Kahwaty (Clifton, NJ/Clifton) paced the
Cougars by taking 24th overall and eighth among Division II runners.
Kahwaty has been Caldwell's top runner in all four meets thus far this
season. She was followed closely by junior Shannon Coyle
(Matawan, NJ/St. John Vianney), pictured, who took ninth (27th
overall), and junior Amy Ransom (Chattanooga, TN/Notre Dame),
who placed 11th (30th overall). Senior Katie Doster (Wayne,
NJ/Wayne Valley) and junior Lauren O'Connell (South Amboy,
NJ/St. John Vianney) rounded out the scoring for the Cougars,
finishing in 16th and 17th, respectively, among Division II runners.
Junior Erin Doyle (Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasuan) came in
21st in the Divison II scoring.
The Cougars' next race is Saturday, Oct. 8,when they travel to
Wilmington, Del., for the Goldey-Beacom College Invitational.
