N.Y. - The Caldwell College women's cross country team participated in
the N.J.I.T. Classic Sunday morning at Van Cortlandt Park. In team
results, the Cougars defeated Dominican College and lost to the host
Highlanders. Freshman Jerrica Kahwaty (Clifton, NJ/Clifton)
paced Caldwell with her fifth-place finish, completing the 5,000-meter
course in 25 minutes, 36 seconds.
Following Kahwaty was junior Amy Ransom (Chattanooga, TN/Notre
Dame), pictured, in sixth place and junior Shannon Coyle (Matawan,
NJ/St. John Vianney) in eighth place. Juniors Lauren O'Connell
(South Amboy, NJ/St. John Vianney) and Erin Doyle (Spring Lake
Heights, NJ/Manasuan) took 14th and 17th, respectively.
Next up for the Cougars is the Wilmington College Invitational on
Saturday, Sept. 24 in New Castle, Del.
