CALDWELL CROSS COUNTRY NAMED ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

CALDWELL,
N.J. - For the second year in a row, the Caldwell College cross country team
received
All-Academic Team honors by the U.S. Track
& Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the organization
announced today. Teams must have a combined cumulative grade-point
average of 3.0 or higher to be eligible for the USTFCCCA All-Academic
Team award.
The Cougars, coached by John Tosato, compiled a team GPA of
3.47 through the fall semester to rank 31st among the 91 NCAA
Division II programs included on the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team
list. Caldwell was one of two Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference
teams honored.
Team
members include seniors Shannon Coyle (Matawan, NJ/St. John Vianney), Katie Doster
(Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley), Erin
Doyle (Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan) and Lauren O'Connell
(South Amboy, NJ/St. John Vianney), and freshmen Danielle Cleary (Rockaway
Twp.,
NJ/Morris Knolls) and Jaclyn Feola (Belleville, NJ/Belleville).
Earlier this week, Coyle, Doster and O'Connell were named to the
Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All-Academic Team for the 2006
fall season, which requires a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Last fall the Cougars tied for eighth at the CACC Championships and
received the conference's Sportsmanship Award for the third
consecutive season.
