CALDWELL HARRIERS TIE FOR EIGHTH AT CACC CHAMPIONSHIPS

10-21-06
WILMINGTON, Del. - The Caldwell College cross country team finished in a tie for eighth place with Bloomfield College at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Cross Country Championships Saturday morning at Carousel Park. The Cougars also received the Sportsmanship Award for the third consecutive year. Georgian Court captured the team title, with Felician College's Amanda Scibetta winning the individual crown over the 5,000-meter course. The eighth-place finish matches Caldwell's program-best result at last year's conference meet.

Freshman Jaclyn Feola (Belleville, NJ/Belleville) was the first Caldwell runner across the line, as Feola took 25th. Senior Shannon Coyle (Matawan, NJ/St. John Vianney) followed closely behind Feola with a 34th-place finish, while freshman Danielle Cleary (Rockaway Twp., NJ/Morris Knolls) came in 55th. Three seniors running in their final conference championship meet rounded out the Cougars' lineup. Katie Doster (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley),  pictured, who has been a member of the team since its inaugural season in 2003, took 59th, Lauren O'Connell (South Amboy, NJ/St. John Vianney) finished 66th, and Erin Doyle (Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan) came in 71st.

Caldwell, coached by John Tosato, will compete in the NCAA East Region Meet on Saturday, Nov. 4 in Slippery Rock, Pa.
