COUGARS WIN HOME MEET TO KICK OFF SEASON

CALDWELL, N.J. - The Caldwell College cross country team placed four
runners in the top five as the Cougars defeated Post University and
Dominican College in a triangular meet held on the Caldwell campus
Monday afternoon. The Cougars, coached by John Tosato, beat
Post 19-36 and defeated Dominican 23-32, while the Eagles edged
Dominican 26-29.
Dominican's Jessica Lappe won the individual title, followed by
Caldwell freshman Jaclyn Feola (Belleville, NJ/Belleville),
left, who took second place in her first collegiate race. Another
freshman, Danielle Cleary (Rockaway Twp., NJ/Morris Knolls)
also made a strong debut, finishing fourth. Seniors Shannon Coyle
(Matawan, NJ/St. John Vianney) and Katie Doster (Wayne,
NJ/Wayne Valley) helped the Cougars grab four of the top five spots
with third and fifth place finishes, respectively. Senior Erin
Doyle (Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan) rounded out Caldwell's
lineup with a 12th-place showing.
The Cougars will compete in the Post University Invitational on
Thursday, Sept. 21, beginning at 3:45 p.m. in Waterbury, Conn.
