CROSS COUNTRY WRAPS UP SEASON AT NCAA EAST
REGIONAL MEET
11-4-06
SLIPPERY
ROCK, Pa. - The Caldwell College cross country team finished the 2006
campaign with a 28th-place finish at the NCAA Division II East Region
Meet Saturday morning at Cooper's Lake Campground. The Cougars fielded
a complete team at the NCAA Region Meet for the first time in the
four-year history of the cross country program at Caldwell.
Caldwell was paced by freshman Jaclyn Feola (Belleville,
NJ/Belleville), who has been the Cougars' top runner in all but one
meet this season. Feola took 154th, followed by fellow freshman
Danielle Cleary (Rockaway Twp., NJ/Morris Knolls) in 176th.
Rounding out Caldwell's lineup were the team's three seniors: Katie
Doster (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley), Lauren O'Connell (South
Amboy, NJ/St. John Vianney) and Erin Doyle (Spring Lake
Heights, NJ/Manasquan). Doster is the only Cougar to have been a
member of all four cross country teams at Caldwell. She and O'Connell,
pictured, competed in the NCAA East Region Meet last season, which was
the first time the Cougars were included in the field.
Last month the Cougars, coached by John Tosato, tied for eighth place
at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championships and
received the conference's Sportsmanship Award for the third
consecutive season.
