AGUILERA CHOSEN CACC PLAYER OF THE WEEK10-12-04 CALDWELL, N.J. - Sophomore midfielder Victoria Aguilera (Merida, Venezuela/Saucon Valley) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's soccer Player of the Week, the conference announced today. Aguilera is the first Caldwell College women's soccer player to receive the weekly award from the CACC this season.
In two games last week, Aguilera totaled two goals and two assists as the Cougars picked up a pair of CACC wins to improve to 4-2 in the conference and move into fourth place. Against Teikyo Post on Wednesday, Aguilera scored twice and added an assist in a 4-2 win. Then on Saturday, she assisted on the game-winning goal by junior Renata Fonseca (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Essex CC) as the Cougars beat N.J.I.T., 2-0.
A second team All-CACC selection in 2003, Aguilera led the Cougars with 23 points on seven goals and nine assists last season. She has three goals and five assists for 11 points so far this season, which ties her for the team lead.
The Cougars return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 13, when they play at Felician at 3:30 p.m. in an important CACC game. |
