FOUR COUGARS NAMED TO ALL-CACC WOMEN'S SOCCER SQUADS
10-24-06
CALDWELL, N.J. - Four members of the Caldwell College women's soccer
team were chosen to the all-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference
teams, the league announced today. Senior defender Patty Clark
(North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick) was named to the first team,
while senior forward Victoria Aguilera (Merida, Venezuela/Saucon
Valley), junior midfielder Carla Bleiler (Galloway Twp., NJ/Absegami)
and sophomore midfielder Kristee Paknis (Whiting,
NJ/Manchester) were included on the second team.
This is the first all-conference honor for Clark, who transferred to
Caldwell last fall from Merrimack College. Clark tallied two goals
and three assists for seven points as a senior while playing on the
Cougars' backline. In a 2-1 win over Mercy College, Clark scored the
game-winner with just 10 seconds remaining in regulation, earning
her CACC and ECAC Player of the Week honors for the week ending
Sept. 10. She also scored a goal in Caldwell's 3-2 win at Queens
College on Oct. 9. Clark finished her career at Caldwell with three
goals and six assists for 12 points.
Aguilera ranked second on the team this year with seven goals and 15
points while starting all 19 games. A three-time all-CACC second
team honoree who was all-CACC honorable mention last season,
Aguilera scored a hat trick in her final home game on Oct. 7, a 4-3
loss to Philadelphia University. In 77 career games, Aguilera
totaled 26 goals and 19 assists for 71 points for the Cougars.
Bleiler makes her third appearance on the all-CACC teams, having made
the first team twice. She scored three goals and had three assists
for nine points while starting 18 of Caldwell's 19 games. In a 2-0
win over Mansfield University on Sept. 17, Bleiler scored the
game-winning goal and assisted on the other. She also tallied a pair
of goals in a victory over Felician on Sept. 16. The 2004 CACC
Newcomer of the Year, Bleiler has recorded 19 goals and 15 assists
for 53 points in 58 games.
Paknis led Caldwell in scoring this season with eight goals and three
assists for 19 points. An all-CACC first team selection last year,
Paknis tallied three game-winning goals, including back-to-back
winners against Queens and Bloomfield College that earned her CACC
Player of the Week honors on Oct. 16. She also had a pair of
two-goal games. In 38 games, Paknis has totaled 38 points on 13
goals and 12 assists.
The Cougars, coached by Rick Stainton, completed their season
with a record of 7-11-1, including a 4-5-1 mark in the conference to
place seventh.
