COUGARS TABBED FOR SEVENTH IN CACC WOMEN'S SOCCER PRESEASON POLL

8-21-07
CALDWELL, N.J. - The Caldwell College women's soccer team was predicted to finish seventh in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference this season, according to the CACC Preseason Poll as voted on by the league's 12 head coaches. The Cougars received 70 points in the poll, which selected defending CACC Tournament champion Philadelphia University the favorite for the upcoming 2007 season.

Head coach Nate Guagliardi begins his first season at Caldwell with nine players back from last season's squad that went 7-11-1 and placed seventh in the CACC, missing the conference tournament for the first time in three years. Three all-conference players headline the returnees, with senior forward Brook DeLucca (Nutley, NJ/Nutley), senior midfielder Carla Bleiler (Galloway Twp., NJ/Absegami) and junior midfielder Kristee Paknis (Whiting, NJ/Manchester) back to help the Cougars return to teh CACC Tournament.

With the addition of Chestnut Hill College bringing the total of conference members to 12, the CACC Tournament field has expanded from six teams to eight teams beginning this season.

Caldwell begins the season on Saturday, Sept. 1 at Philadelphia University at 12:00 p.m.
