HOENIG RECEIVES CACC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK HONORS IN WOMEN'S SOCCER

CALDWELL, N.J. - Caldwell College freshman goalkeeper Lauren Hoenig (Howell, NJ/Howell) was selected the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for the week ending Sept. 30, the conference announced today. Hoenig is the first Cougars' women's soccer player to receive a weekly award from the CACC this season.

Hoenig helped the Cougars go 1-1 in conference play last week to improve to 3-2 in the CACC and 3-6 overall. On Sept. 26, Hoenig made 23 saves against Georgian Court University before surrendering the game's only goal just 19 seconds before the end of regulation. Then in Caldwell's 2-0 victory over Goldey-Beacom College on Sept. 29, Hoenig recorded four saves for her first career shutout. She has played every minute of all nine games in goal for the Cougars this season.

Hoenig and the Cougars play at Dominican College on Tuesday, Oct. 2, beginning at 4:00 p.m. in Orangeburg, N.Y.
