CALDWELL, N.J. – Caldwell College women’s soccer coach Nate Guagliardi was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Co-Coach of the Year, as the league announced its year-end awards today. Senior forward Kristee Paknis (Whiting, NJ/Manchester) was included on the all-CACC first team, senior midfielder Samantha Rinks (Corinth, TX/Billy Ryan) made the second team, and senior midfielder Kim Fenton (Galloway Twp., NJ/Absegami) and freshman defender Nikki D’Orsaneo (Bowie, MD/Bowie) received honorable mention.

In just his second season, Guagliardi brought in a recruiting class of 18 newcomers this fall to join just five returning players. A native of Belleville, N.J., and a former goalkeeper for the Caldwell men’s soccer team, Guagliardi guided his young team to a 7-10-1 overall record and a fourth-place finish in the CACC standings. The Cougars’ 7-3-1 mark in conference play earned them a home game in the CACC Tournament for the second time in the 11-year history of the program.

This is the first time on the all-CACC first team for Paknis, who leads the Cougars in scoring with 12 goals and six assists for 30 points. Earlier this season, she set a school record with four goals in a game as Caldwell defeated Felician College, 5-0 on Sept. 24. Later that week, Paknis scored twice in a 3-3 tie with Georgian Court University to earn CACC Player of the Week accolades on Sept. 29. A three-time member of the all-CACC second team, Paknis has 33 goals and 21 assists for 87 points in 75 career games.

Rinks earns her first all-CACC award after posting five goals and a team-best seven assists for 17 points this season. The team’s leader in assists, Rinks recorded multi-assist games in victories over Goldey-Beacom College and Chestnut Hill College. Last month, she was named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District first team, making her eligible for Academic All-American honors. A four-year starter who has played in 75 games, Rinks has totaled 45 points on 17 goals and 11 assists in her career.

Fenton receives all-CACC honorable mention for the second year in a row after recording a goal and two assists this season. A starter for the past two seasons, Fenton has tallied three goals and seven assists in her career. D’Orsaneo had an outstanding debut season for the Cougars, starting all 18 games as a central defender. She anchored a back line that contributed to three shutouts, while also registering a goal and four assists.

Caldwell hosts a CACC Tournament quarterfinal game today against fifth-seeded Nyack College. The kick-off is set for 2:00 p.m. at Caldwell Field.
