MARGIOTTA SELECTED CACC WOMEN'S SOCCER ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

11-3-08
CALDWELL, N.J. - Caldwell College freshman forward Katie Margiotta (Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week for the week ending Nov. 2, the conference released today. This is the second time this season Margiotta has received the award, having been named the conference's Co-Rookie of the Week back on Oct. 20.

In the Cougars' 3-1 victory over Nyack College on Monday, Oct. 27, Margiotta scored twice and assisted on a goal by senior forward Kristee Paknis (Whiting, NJ/Manchester) for a total of five points. Her performance helped the Cougars wrap up fourth place and a home game in the CACC Tournament. In her first collegiate season, Margiotta has six goals and one assist for 13 points to rank third on the team in scoring.

Earlier today, the Cougars defeated Nyack again, 1-0 in the quarterfinals of the CACC Tournament. The result puts Caldwell into the semifinals against top-seeded Philadelphia University on Wednesday, Nov. 5. The game is scheduled to start at 12:00 p.m. at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School in Philadelphia, Pa.
