WOMEN'S TENNIS BLANKS ST. THOMAS AQUINAS

The Caldwell College women's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 victory over St. Thomas Aquinas Tuesday afternoon at the Caldwell Tennis Courts. With the win, the Cougars are now 6-2-1 on the season.

In doubles, Caldwell got wins from its No. 1 pair of senior Stacie Zafiris (pictured) (Palisades Park, NY/Palisades Park) and junior Oksana Manoukian (Old Tappan, NJ/Rutgers), and its No. 2 doubles tandem of sophomore Joellen Keaney (Oak Bluffs, MA/Marthas Vineyard Regional) and junior Erin O'Neill (River Edge, NJ/Barnstable Academy). St. Thomas Aquinas, which is fielding a tennis team for the first time this season, forfeited at No. 3 doubles.

In singles, Manoukian, Zafiris, Keaney and sophomore Danielle O'Connell (South Amboy, NJ/St. John Vianney) picked up straight-set victories, while O'Neill won 8-0 in a pro set.

Next up for the women's tennis team is a home dual with the College of Staten Island on Friday at 4:00 p.m. at the Caldwell Tennis Courts.
