CALDWELL TOPS RUTGERS-NEWARK IN WOMEN'S TENNIS

The Caldwell College women's tennis team cruised to a 7-2 victory over Rutgers-Newark Saturday afternoon at the Caldwell Tennis Courts. With the win, the Cougars are now 8-3-1 on the season.

In doubles, Caldwell got wins from its No. 1 pair of senior Stacie Zafiris (Palisades Park, NY/Palisades Park) and junior Oksana Manoukian (Old Tappan, NJ/Rutgers), and its No. 3 doubles tandem of senior Elaine Mancebo (Newark, NJ/St. Vincent Academy) and freshman Patricia Messick.

In singles, Manoukian, sophomore Joellen Keaney (pictured) (Oak Bluffs, MA/Marthas Vineyard Regional), junior Erin O'Neill (River Edge, NJ/Barnstable Academy), junior Kristi Godfrey (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon) and sophomore Danielle O'Connell (South Amboy, NJ/St. John Vianney) picked up straight-set victories for the Cougars.

Next up for the women's tennis team is a dual at Montclair State on Monday, Oct. 18.
