MANOUKIAN TURNS IN RUNNER-UP FINISH AT CACC TOURNAMENT

NECK, N.J. - Caldwell College senior Oksana Manoukian (Old Tappan,
NJ/Northern Valley Regional) won her first three singles matches at the
Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Tennis Individual Tournament
before losing in the finals at the Colts Neck Racquet Club Sunday afternoon.
Manoukian, who fell to N.J.I.T.'s Julia Doci 6-4, 6-3, received all-CACC
honors as a result of her runner-up finish.
On Saturday, the second-seeded Manoukian defeated Georgian Court's Katie
Henriques 10-1 in the first round and USP's Amanda Bedway 7-5, 6-1 in the quar terfinals.
Manoukian earned a spot in the final by beating Maddie Smith of Philadelphia
University 6-3, 6-3 earlier on Sunday. Manoukian ends her season with a
singles record of 12-3, including two losses to the top-seeded Doci.
Also in Saturday's action, junior Joellen Keaney (Oak Bluffs, MA/Marthas
Vineyard Reg.), right, lost in the first round of the singles draw to Holy
Family's Quena Borres 10-2. In the doubles draw, Keaney and Manoukian won
their first match before bowing out in the quarterfinals to Smith and Amanda
Frantz of Philadelphia, 8-1.
