CARLETON TO COACH COUGAR TENNIS SQUADS

8-30-05

CALDWELL, N.J. - Jennifer Carleton has been named coach administrator at Caldwell College by Mark A. Corino, the school's Executive Director of Athletics. Carleton, who will begin her third season as an assistant coach for the Cougar women's basketball team this winter, will coach the men's and women's tennis teams at Caldwell while also managing the athletic equipment.

Carleton is a 2003 graduate of Caldwell College, where she played basketball for four seasons and was a member of the tennis team for two seasons. As a sharp-shooting guard, Carleton set the school record for three-pointers with 149 in her career, including 64 during her senior season. She became an assistant coach to head coach Nicole Durnien-Amato after earning a Bachelor's degree in communications.

Caldwell College's women's tennis team turned in its best season in 2004, finishing 8-4-1. The Cougars return five players from that squad, including senior Oksana Manoukian (Old Tappan, NJ/Rutgers), who was a perfect 11-0 in dual matches. The men's team has six players back from last season's 2-9 squad.

"I'm excited and looking forward to getting started," Carleton said. "We have a solid foundation here with a lot of returning players on both teams, which will make our building process into a top program much easier."

Carleton is a native of Jackson, N.J., and currently resides in Bayville, N.J.
