WOMEN'S TENNIS DEFEATS ADELPHI, 5-4

CITY, N.Y. - The Caldwell College women's tennis team ended a two-match
losing streak with a 5-4 victory over Adelphi University in a non-conference
dual Thursday afternoon. The victory evens the Cougars' record at 4-4 on the
season, while the Panthers drop to 2-5.
The Cougars won two out of the three doubles matches with wins at first and
second doubles. Senior Oksana Manoukian (Old Tappan, NJ/Northern Valley
Regional), and freshman
Brittni Frantellizzi (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) combined to win
8-3 at No. 1 doubles, and senior Joellen Keaney (Oak Bluffs,
MA/Martha's Vineyard Regional), pictured, paired with sophomore Emilie Skidmore
(Pompton Plains, NJ/Pequannock Twp.) for an 8-5 victory at No. 2 doubles.
In singles, Manoukian, Skidmore and Frantellizzi were victorious in straight
sets at first, second and fourth singles, respectively, to earn five team
points for the win.
The Cougars have their first day off in three days before taking on
Philadelphia University on Saturday, Sept. 30 in Philadelphia, Pa.
