MANOUKIAN, FRANTELLIZZI RECEIVE CACC WEEKLY AWARDS

CALDWELL, N.J. - Senior Oksana Manoukian (Old Tappan, NJ/Northern Valley Reg.) was chosen the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 8, the conference announced today. Additionally, freshman Brittni Frantellizzi (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) was named the league's co-Rookie of the Week.

 

Manoukian, right, won all eight of her singles matches last week, including four this past weekend to capture the NJAIAW Flight A Singles championship, held at Drew University. On Sunday, Manoukian defeated a pair of players from Division I Princeton University in the final two rounds to win the NJAIAW title, then returned to Caldwell to win her match at No. 1 singles in the dual with the University of Sciences. She also won No. 1 singles matches in three other duals during the week to improve to 16-0 on the season and 40-4 during her three-year career at Caldwell.

Frantellizzi, left, won all four of her matches in the Cougars' four duals, defeating all four opponents in straight sets. She defeated players from East Stroudsburg University, St. Thomas Aquinas College and USP at No. 4 singles, and won at No. 3 singles against Molloy College. She also went 2-2 at No. 1 doubles with Manoukian.

The Cougars complete their regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 11 with a non-conference dual at Bloomsburg University, beginning at 3:00 p.m.
