SKIDMORE, MESSICK COMPETE IN CACC TOURNEY

PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. - Caldwell College women's tennis players Emilie
Skidmore (Pompton Plains, NJ/Pequannock Twp.) and Patty Messick (Penns
Grove, NJ/Penns Grove) participated in the Central Atlantic Collegiate
Conference Individual Tournament Friday afternoon at Plymouth-Whitemarsh
High School. Skidmore lost her first-round match in the singles tournament,
then teamed with Messick in the doubles draw, where they fell in the
quarterfinals.
Skidmore battled Melanie Pulsinelli of Holy Family University in a first
round singles match, losing 10-5. The Cougars' No. 1 singles player,
Skidmore completes the season with a 6-9 record in singles. She also ends
her two-year career at Caldwell with a 10-20 mark. Skidmore and Messick
received a bye into the quarterfinals of the doubles tournament before
losing to Holy Family's Quena Borres and Lauren Neill, 8-0. The result marks
the end of Messick's four-year career at Caldwell.
The Cougars, coached by Michael Lukacs, finished the 2007 season with
a 2-12 overall record and placed seventh in the CACC at 1-6.
